How can I help?
Ten Highly Effective Habits to Help Kidpower Grow
|
1. Tell a friend (and another and another…) Most
people come to us through word of mouth. This means from YOU! If you feel that
you or your loved ones have benefited from our services, your personal
conversation will inspire others to take a class. Please tell the people in
your life to give us a call.
2. Give a class as a gift. Safety, confidence and
peace of mind make meaningful gifts for any occasion – birthday, graduation,
holiday, or just

|
because birthday, graduation,
holiday, or just because you want to let someone know that you care. It’s easy
– just call with a credit card or send us a check for a gift certificate. |
3. Donate to our scholarship fund to honor someone you care about. We will send
a personal card to anyone you wish to honor.
4. Have the organization you belong to sponsor a workshop. It’s a rewarding way
to make a difference. We will give you a packet of information to present to
your Board of Directors or leaders of your school group, place of worship,
youth group, service club, or community organization. Call our office for
options and costs.
5. Organize a workshop yourself. Set a date with us and we’ll make you a flyer.
Reach out to your family, friends, neighbors with this opportunity to take a
workshop together. Find a place at your home, the local library, office or a
nearby community center.
6. Introduce Kidpower to your service club. Are you a member of Rotary, Sertoma,
Kiwanis, Lions, or other service club? We are happy to arrange a presentation
for your members because we know that they are community leaders who will help
us in spreading the word and in considering us for funding.
 |
7. Introduce Kidpower to your workplace giving
resources. Does your company make donations to nonprofit groups? Do you conduct
a workplace giving campaign? Is there a matching gift program for employees who
volunteer or donate? Please give our office information about who to approach
and how, so that we can submit a formal application. Your personal endorsement
will make a huge difference in our credibility in seeking grants or donations
at your place of work.
|
8. Designate Kidpower as a beneficiary in your will, life insurance, IRA and
retirement plan. You can make a simple bequest to Kidpower by adding the
following statement to your will: “I give $__________ (or the following assets)
to Kidpower, a charitable tax exempt 501(c)3 organization located at 10 Boulder Crescent,
Suite 100, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Call us for our Tax ID number.
If you designate Kidpower as the beneficiary for your IRA or Retirement Plan,
you may be able to reduce your inheritance taxes to your children while making
a substantial donation.
9. Make a direct donation of stock. Stock donated to a nonprofit organization
can be deducted from your income taxes at full market value while being exempt
from capital gains tax. Call or write our office for further information.
10. Last but not least, make a direct donation of cash. Remember that all
donations are tax deductible. Also, consider the impact you can have by
extending your giving throughout the year. a pledge for a monthly or quarterly
amount. For example, a gift of $500 might sound like more than you could
handle, yet that is only $42 a month. Even $10 a month adds up to $120 for the
year.
